We won't give you a flat yes, because that call isn't ours to make. The berm is Auckland Council and Auckland Transport road reserve, so AT decides what's allowed on it — not us, and not you.
What we can tell you is that the method is deliberately built to sit in the strongest possible position against those rules: the grid is filled with soil and turfed, so the berm stays grass; it is anchored only to your existing, already-legal vehicle crossing; and there is no excavation and it is fully reversible.
No. The grid is filled with topsoil and the turf goes back over the top. Once it has grown in, it is grass — same colour, same texture, same mowing height. The only difference is what happens when something heavy drives on it.
We can't answer that on Auckland Transport's behalf. What we can say is that a Corridor Access Request exists for activity that alters the surface of the road reserve, and our method is specifically designed not to: grass in, grass out, no hard surface, no excavation, and no new access point created.

Trees and poles are the main reason a berm gets declined — roots and underground services don't mix with even a shallow grid. If there's a tree in the strip, we'll usually suggest a shorter section alongside it, or tell you honestly that it isn't a good fit.
No driveway means no Bermy. We only ever reinforce the strip directly beside an existing vehicle crossing. A standalone patch of berm with no driveway attached is exactly the unpredictable mid-berm parking we're trying to avoid.
The grid takes load immediately, but the grass needs time to knit the soil together before it can take a car without scuffing. Plan on about four weeks of keeping vehicles off it while it establishes.
We'll leave you written grow-in care instructions on the day, and check in afterwards. We're confirming the exact period against our chosen grid supplier's specification and will update this number if it changes.
The install is fully reversible — the grid lifts out and the berm goes back to being ordinary grass. Nothing about it is permanent, which is also why it doesn't need to be disclosed as a hard surface or a structural alteration.
